Where Sobriety Becomes a Lifestyle, Not Just Another Break

You’ve been listening to the podcast. You’ve had the insights. Now it’s time to apply them.

This is a community for men and women who are done with the back-and-forth cycle and ready to live what they’ve learned.

Here, we take the mindset shifts, emotional tools, and brain science you’ve heard on the podcast and turn them into real, lasting change.

💥 Not a sober-curious space.
💥 Not a moderation group.

Whether you’re newly committed or years into sobriety, this community gives you the structure, support, and space to:
✅ Put insight into action with weekly themes and practices
✅ Build a strong routine that supports long-term sobriety
✅ Develop real coping skills so stress, boredom, or emotions don’t take over
✅ Stay connected to your future self, not just your past patterns
✅ Understand your old triggers and respond to them differently

Sobriety gives you freedom. The membership helps you live it with intention, clarity, and support.

“After almost 10 years of trying to get sober (through therapy, in other communities), I decided to try the Sober Powered community while listening to Gill Tietz’s same named podcast. The community is a great fit for me. Real people sharing their wins and struggles, lifting others up, and just plain having fun. Oh yes! Can you believe it?! You can have fun in sobriety! In my more than 1 year of sobriety with this community, I developed a real bond with many of the members, and we share lots of laughs.

You just have to accept that alcohol will never be part of your life again, but seriously, haven’t we had enough for several lifetimes? You get to a point in sobriety where you realize, THIS is the good life! Not the booze, not the bad sleep, nor the other bad habits. This community has helped me work through shame that was once inhibiting me from living to the fullest. It’s work for sure, but so rewarding! It’s a community of really beautiful people. If you’re done with drinking, check out this community. Real living awaits you.”

Why Living a Sober Powered Life?

Small Meetings

Our meetings are intentionally small (~8–30 people) so everyone who wants to share can. Not ready to speak? That’s okay. Come as you are—camera off, quiet, still doing the work. Every meeting helps you apply what you're learning, from reframing triggers to responding to discomfort without spiraling.

No Tough Love

We do not do tough love here (unless you want it)

True Accountability and Support

Our community motto is: “Support others, and they’ll support you.”
This isn’t just a feel-good group. It’s a protective factor, the thing that stands between you and that next drink when your brain says “it doesn’t matter.” Many members stay sober because they don’t want to lie to us, and that’s the point. You’re not doing this alone.

Extra Small Groups

We offer even smaller, focused calls (4–15 people) for:

  • The Struggle Bus (for when you're having trouble, regardless of how much sober time you have)

  • 6 Months+ (deep work)

  • 1 Year+ (long-term growth, identity shifts)

  • Women’s Only (safe space, real talk)

These aren’t just check ins. They’re live spaces to work through what you’re learning, together.

What to Expect Over Time

You’ll get clear guidance on:

  • What to expect in your first 90 days

  • What shifts around the 6-month and 1-year mark

  • The most common relapse points and how to navigate them

  • How your thinking evolves and how to keep growing

This isn’t just support, it’s a map. One that helps you build real emotional sobriety and avoid the traps that most people walk into alone.

“I have been checking in A LOT on the app because I am really feeling great - I've never heard my own thoughts and actions reflected by others and it's had my jaw on the floor more then once. THANK YOU!!”

“Second meeting tonight and I am so grateful for this community you built. This is what I have been missing and looking for. Thank you”

“Having cheerleaders and coaches in my pocket has been awesome. I've been able to start hard conversations in real life that I've needed to address for years because I finally have peeps who will give me positive support on a daily. Any time I've posted an activity or something positive that I've done, there is someone there to pat me on the back which helps reinforce that what I did was good and that I need to do it again.”

Have a question about the community? Reach out!

Here’s our meeting schedule

Our meetings are not about telling stories about our drinking days or talking about how grateful we are now. We focus on doing “the work”. This means we are talking mindset shifts, coping skills, breaking down unhelpful believes, shifting our identity, stress management, and more.

The Real Inner Work is Done in Our Meetings

“Mindset shifts have been that I'm worthy of love, so many people struggle with the same social awkardness that I do, so many women over-function in their relationships like I do, and I'm not perfect and that's ok.”

How Living a Sober Powered Life is Different Than Other Sober Online Communities

Data Points: in other groups you’ll hear “oh it’s just a data point. Onward!”. You won’t hear that in this community. You’ve collected enough data points to last several life times. Instead, we dig into the why and we get honest. Minimizing and ignoring the truth doesn’t help us change.

No Inspo or Influencers: everyone is doing their “work” in this group. You won’t find any teaching/inspo posts in here. While we do have fun and have some great inside jokes, this is the place to go when you want to be around people who are real, honest, and brave.

Everyone Wants Sobriety: this is not the group you join if you’re on a moderation journey. While day 1s are unavoidable in any group, you will find a level of seriousness here that you will not see in any other group.

This Community + Podcast = Success. The two go hand in hand.”

“There was the great podcast about realizing we are the common denominators in our 'difficult situations'... you might say that one could have learned from that just by listening to Gill's podcast but actually, it was a much deeper experience having to-and-fro about it later within Circle.”

“I'm very introverted in person, I have a super hard time making friends, and I don't really have friends that I regularly engage with. So, I can sometimes feel like I'm not a valued part of a group, or if I wasn't there, it wouldn't matter. But in this group, I do feel at home. I do feel like I personally know a few people. I have connected a bit with specific people on the individual messaging, so that's a great space and feature of this group, too. My aha moment is that no one gets us like others who are struggling through the same thing. In meetings there are so many head nods, wiping of tears, writing "same" in the comments, etc. We are not alone!”

Find True Connection and Support While You Get Sober and Do “The Work”

I’ve cruised a handful of other AF group meetings over the past 8 months (as I’m sure a lot of us have) and the ones with Sober Powered are special to me because of:

+ Host/moderator quality! Wow!

+ Helpful themes/conversation topics

+ Participants being respectful: not interrupting, being conscious of how long their share is and frequency

+ Keeping the content focused on AF journeys, with the occasional other share

+ Vulnerability and honesty level

+ Humor!

+ Positivity, without being toxic/false positivity

and more.

I know there are all kinds of groups and ways to run them, but SP seems extra unique and of high quality to me.

Living a Sober Powered Life has been recognized by Circle (the platform we host our community is on) as a Platinum Community. This means that we are in the top 10% of most engaged communities on Circle. People stay longer, remain active in the community, have conversations in the DMs, and attend more meetings than in most communities. This won’t be another group that you’ll join and ghost. We want to help you integrate into the group and become a cherished part of the community.

“This community is really having an impact on me. I had a drinking dream for the 1st time last night. I had a glass of wine in my hand and I was so close to giving in so I reached for my phone to post about it on the circle because I knew you guys could talk me out of it. Thanks! 😂😂😂”

You’ve tried it on your own. How about trying something different?

“I *never* thought I would be the type to join a sober community or go to meetings. I thought the advice you see in quit lit and other sobriety content out there that it's absolutely necessary to find community and connection...I firmly believed it didn't apply to me and I was fine doing it alone. I was almost a year and a half sober before I joined this community and I so badly wish I had joined sooner. I'm surprised but so grateful that I immediately felt so connected to this community and the connection continues to grow. I've been a member of Living a Sober Powered Life for almost 6 months now and the group meetings are a pillar of my sobriety.”

What the community is saying

FAQS

  • Is this membership just for women?

Nope! This is for everyone. My audience is about 75% women and the membership reflects that split. Some of my most active members are men, and there are men in our meetings.

  • Is everyone really young?

We have had members in their 20’s all the way up to members in their 70’s. Whatever your age is, you will find others in the group like you.

  • How present is Gill?

I am very present in the community and I host most of the meetings. This isn’t another community where the main person shows up once a week and you’re mostly working with other coaches.

  • What if I'm not very tech-savvy?

Circle is pretty easy to navigate and can be done on your computer, on your phone via the internet, or inside an app on your phone. It looks similar to Facebook, so there isn’t a learning curve. I have a comprehensive FAQ doc in the community explaining everything too

  • Is this like your podcast?

Yes and no. This is not group coaching and I do not lecture during these meetings. This is a support community. The under 30 days meeting end up being a hybrid between a support meeting and group coaching

  • What is your refund policy?

I do not offer refunds, but you can easily cancel your membership at any time in Circle (where you sign up). Members are responsible for managing their subscriptions. There are no refunds for unused time or refunds for joining the community and changing your mind.

  • Is this for the Sober Curious?

No. This community is for people who know they want to quit drinking and are looking for accountability, support, and feedback along the journey. This isnt a place to figure out if you want to quit or moderate. If you’re sober curious, please listen to my podcast.

  • I struggle with other substances/behaviors. Can I join?

This community is for people who’s primary issue is with alcohol. While we do have members that struggle with multiple things, you must be working on quitting drinking to join.
