Pickled. Why Moderation is Impossible.

Having one foot into sobriety and one foot out is the most difficult stage to get through.

You know you should quit, but part of you still hopes that someday you can drink normally- without consequences, negotiations, or losing control..

The issue is, moderation will always fail because alcohol is not just a beverage for you, it’s the solution.

Since 2020, I’ve been researching:

  • Why some people can drink casually and stop for their entire lives

  • And why others develop an obsession with alcohol and are not satisfied with one drink

In this course, I distill 5+ years of research, lived experience, and helping thousands of people accept that they can’t moderate into 3 short, science-packed lessons you can finish in under 30 minutes.

This is not a course about being sober-curious.

It’s not about mocktails or fancy glasses or being grateful that you “get” to be sober.

This is a course that finally explains:

Why other people can have 1–2 drinks and disengage from alcohol,
and why problem drinkers can’t, not even after long breaks.

“I was afraid to say I will never drink again. It does not seem as scary now.”

Your information has been life changing for me. I think connecting (you’ll find out inside the course lol) while listening to the information may be genius.”

“Maybe it’s been long enough”

“Maybe I wasn’t that bad”

“Maybe I can moderate now”

When alcohol is no longer an option for you, these thoughts will still appear, but you won’t participate in this debate anymore. You’ll know it will never be long enough, you were definitely that bad, and no, you still can’t moderate.

What’s more, you’ll be able to find something else to do and build new pathways before you fall deeper into the rationalization process.

You’ll be able to finally let go

How I Let Go of Moderation

I took a 90 day break from drinking in March-June 2019 and then returned to drinking because surely I was cured! If I actually had a problem, then it wouldn’t have been that easy, right?

Tears came to my eyes when I had my first drink on day 91. The relief was so intense. After that, I controlled it for 2 months by only having 2 drinks on Saturday night and stopping. I had never done that before. I did this because I stopped socializing completely and I kept myself very isolated and “safe” from triggers.

However, the first moment I negotiated on my rules was the last. Before I knew it, I was right back to drinking how I was in March 2019 when I desperately took that break. I got stuck for 4 more months before I could get out again.

On November 9, 2019 I was watching the sun come up after drinking and hating myself all night and I said, “I can never drink again”.

I accepted that I can never change the way I drink no matter what. I felt a wave of peace and I knew I was free.

Who is this course for?

People who have taken breaks before (even short breaks count!), but maintain the hope that they’re different, that they can figure it out someday, and that they can learn how to moderate.
